His parents opened the fish and chip shop in Argyle Street which is still running today. Five years ago, increasingly frustrated with Labour's infringement on civil liberties, Gerry switch his support from Labour and voted Lib Dem. He feels the Lib Dems share his beliefs on the environment, the war in Iraq, and support for local people to make local decisions. Tanya May

She has a degree in Journalism, a PGCE training in FE and is working towards a MA in Translation. As a journalist she has been a correspondent covering national and local elections, international summits and conferences. As a Spanish lecturer she has worked with all levels of learners. She runs a free Spanish Conversation Club in Castle ward. She joined the Liberal Democrats in 2001 and she has campaigned throughout the UK. She believes in the Lib Dem policies about Education and Skills, sharing its slogan 'Stronger families brighter futures', and its core policies scrapping tuition fees, smaller class sizes, more specialist teachers in key subjects, and increasing maternity pay. She has been working in Castle ward since 2005.
