Helen is an active campaigner in the Swansea East area and in the last local elections she narrowly missed out winning a seat in Morriston off Labour, polling over 1500 votes. A former traffic warden in the area, she now works for Peter Black AM as a caseworker. Helen has also worked as a special needs one-to-one classroom support, an administrator for the Welsh Liberal Democrats and in sales for a polythene company. Helen has been an active member of the Liberal Democrats for six years, and is chair of Swansea East Liberal Democrats. She has held posts on the partys policy committee and national executive committee. She contested the Neath constituency (where she previously lived for 5 years) for the Assembly in 2003, and the Swansea East constituency in 2007. Her interests include reading, rock music, reality tv, films and her three cats.

Jonathan is a Doctor of Experimental Physics, having trained in Swansea University for 8 years. He previously worked as a civil servant in Carmarthen, now working as an analyst in Swansea. He stood for the Welsh Lib Dems in the St. Thomas ward (where he was born and raised) in 2004. In the 2008 elections, he gained 1427 votes in Morriston. He is concerned with the availability of quality jobs in the local area for Swansea's young people, and also ways to increase civic pride in Swansea. His interests include writing, rock music, darts and other sport. He is the reigning Swansea and Gower Lib Dem pool champion.

Owen has been actively campaigning for several years since moving to Swansea to study Engineering at Swansea University. His concern's include the lack of a cycle network in Swansea and afield and decreasing carbon footprints. Owen is also on the executive of the youth wing of the Welsh Liberal Democrats. His interests include medieval and English civil war re-enactments, steam engines and archery. When not busy Owen like to be down the range shooting his longbow, something he wishes he was better at.

May 1st

In an excellent result, the Morriston Liberal Democrats reduce Labour's advantage from 283 to just 141 votes at local government elections!

April 9th

Baroness Ros Scott (http://www.ros-scott.org/) is coming to Morriston on the 9th of April 2008, and hopes to meet as many people as possible!

March 12th

The Morriston Liberal Democrat candidates for the upcoming local government elections feature on page 4 of The Western Mail!
