Peter is married with 3 children aged 10, 7, and a baby. He has worked as a Mathematics and Science Tutor for 20 years. He has lived in Swansea for 21 years, firstly living in Killay and Sketty until moving to Brynmill, 15 years ago. Peter has been a Councillor for Uplands ward, primarily looking after the Southern part since 2004. He is a governor at YGG Brynymor, where his eldest daughter attends, and Brynmill School. He joined the Liberal Democrats in 2001 because of their stance locally in supporting the development of Brynmill Park. The park has recently benefited from a £1.3m Heritage Lottery grant for its restoration. Peter is chair of the Tom Morgans Friends of Brynmill Park group, which provides community input to the park. He also sits on the Brynmill Community Centre Management Committee. In the summer, he runs a playscheme for 5-11 year olds at the based at the centre, providing holiday activities for the community's children. Peter is also a member of Sustrans. He is also the Party's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Swansea West, having slashed Labour's majority to 6% as an Assembly Candidate in 2007.

Stuart Rice was elected as Councillor for the Uplands ward in 2004. He is the Chair of Governors at Brynmill School, a member of the Finance & Property Scrutiny Committee of the Council, a Governor of Swansea College and a Director of the South West Wales Tourism Partnership. Alongside education, finance and tourism, Stuart is particularly interested in culture and recreation.
